COLLEGE PARK, MD --  Maryland volleyball prepares for Ohio State and No. 4 Penn State this weekend. First, the Terps will travel to Columbus to face the Buckeyes at 7 p.m. on November 15. They will then return home to host No. 4 Penn State at 2:30 on November 17.

Both matches will air on B1G+.

  • Maryland sits at 12-13 this season and owns a 3-11 conference record after sweeping the weekend, picking up wins over Michigan State and UCLA. Adam Hughes added his 100th career win on Saturday.
  • The Terps hit a conference-best .307 against the Bruins on Saturday with 64 kills and only 18 errors.
  • On the defensive end, Maryland combined for 28 blocks and 119 digs on the weekend.
  • The Terps have remained at the top of the leader board for service aces in the final month of the regular season. Maryland averages 2.01 aces per set, leading the Big Ten and ranking tenth in the nation. 
  • Samantha Schnitta leads Maryland with .74 aces per set, leading the NCAA for the seventh-straight week. After adding six aces last weekend, she is one ace away from breaking the program's all-time single season ace record, held by Lynnsy Jones ('03).

  • Schnitta leads the team in kills, averaging 3.39 per set. The graduate student has recorded 17 matches with ten or more kills and set a new career-high (22) against UCLA. Behind her sits Sam Csire, averaging 2.83 kills per set.
  • Katie Scherer stepped into a larger role in November. She added 23 kills on the weekend, including a career-high 13 against the Bruins.
  • Zoe Huang and Sydney Dowler have split time on the court throughout conference play. They both average over five assists per set. In conference play, Dowler leads Maryland with 5.74 assists per set while Huang totals 173 assists. She posted a career-high 36 assists against UCLA on Saturday.
  • Fifth year libero, Lilly Gunter ranks thirteenth in the Big Ten averaging 3.34 digs per set. She has recorded double-digit digs in 17 matches this season. Defensive specialist Ally Williams has stepped into a large role this season. The junior owns 153 digs on the year, including a career-high 12 digs against Oregon.
  • Eva Rohrbach leads the Terps in blocks with 88. The sophomore averages over three blocks per match. Rohrbach posted 10 blocks against Michigan State. Anastasia Russ added 12 blocks and 13 kills last weekend. She leads the Terps in blocks per set averaging 1.07.

  • Maryland sits 7-17 against Ohio State in program history. The Terps and Buckeyes met twice last year, splitting the matches 1-1. Ohio State took the first match in three sets, followed by a three-set victory for Maryland. 
  • The last time Maryland picked up a win in Columbus was in 2018.
  • Sunday's match will be the thirty-ninth meeting between Penn State and Maryland with the Nittany Lions holding a 33-6 all-time record. These programs met earlier this season, with then-No. 3 Penn State taking a 3-1 victory in State College. 
  • Before his time at Maryland, Adam Hughes served as an director of operations for Penn State from 2010-14. He graduated from Penn State in 2006.

  • Ohio State sits 11-13 overall and owns a 4-10 conference record. Last weekend, the Buckeyes went 1-1 with a win over Michigan and loss to Illinois.
  • The Spartans rank similarly to Maryland in kills, averaging a slightly higher rate of 12.55. They rank in the top-10 of the conference in blocks, digs and assists.
  • Ohio State's offense runs through their outside hitter Emily Londot and setters Mia Tuman and Kamiah Gibson. On the defensive side, Olivia Hasbrook owns 361 digs, the fifth-highest in the Big Ten. Eloise Brandewie has tallied 101 blocks, averaging 1.09 blocks per set.
  • No. 4 Penn State owns a 23-2 overall record, as well as a 13-1 conference record with its only loss coming against then-No. 7 Wisconsin on Saturday.
  • The Nittany Lions rank first in the Big Ten in kills per set (14.56) and assists per set (13.48). They average 14.64 digs per set and 2.51 blocks per set. 
  • A few notable names for Penn State include Jess Mruzik and Izzy Starck for their offensive production. They both rank second in the conference in kills and assists in their respective categories. Maggie Mendelson owns 98 blocks and Gillian Grimes has tallied 349 digs on the year.
  • Penn State will face Illinois at home before traveling to College Park for Sunday's contest.
