SYKESVILLE, MD -- Maryland Wrestling defeated American 38 to -1 in a strong victory for the Terps on Saturday.
Competing at South Carroll High School, the Terps dominated in front of a packed crowd lead by pin fall victories from
Chase Mielnik and
Jaxon Smith.
The Terrapins were also boosted by a major decision victory by
John Martin Best and a technical fall by
Braxton Brown.
Freshman
Tyler Garvin showed poise in his match, coming back from trailing 4-0 to win 9-6 in overtime.
This is the first time the Terps have shutout their opponent since defeating Duke 37-0 in 2022.
The Terrapins will be back in action against Morgan State on Friday, Nov. 22 in College Park.
