COLLEGE PARK, MD --  Maryland volleyball remains home for the second consecutive weekend. The Terps will host Michigan State and UCLA in the Pavilion. Thursday's match against the Spartans will begin at 8 p.m. on November 7. They will then face UCLA on Saturday, November 9 at 7 p.m. 

Both matches will air on B1G+.

  • Maryland sits at 10-13 this season and owns a 1-11 conference record after falling to then-No. 11 Purdue and Indiana last weekend. 
  • The Terps continue to dominate from the service line as they finish the final month of regular season play. Maryland averages 2.05 aces per set, leading the Big Ten and ranking eighth in the nation. 
  • Samantha Schnitta leads Maryland with .74 aces per set, leading the NCAA for the sixth-straight week. She is seven aces away from breaking the program's all-time single season ace record, held by Lynnsy Jones ('03).

  • Schnitta leads the team in kills, averaging 3.28 per set. The graduate student has recorded 15 matches with ten or more kills. Behind her sits Sam Csire, averaging 2.84 kills per set. Csire led Maryland in kills against Purdue on Friday.
  • Zoe Huang and Sydney Dowler have split time on the court in recent conference matches. They both average over five assists per set. In conference play, Dowler leads Maryland with 6.14 assists per set while Huang totals 119 assists.
  • Fifth year libero, Lilly Gunter ranks thirteenth in the Big Ten averaging 3.25 digs per set. She has recorded double-digit digs in 15 matches at the midway point of the season. Defensive specialist Ally Williams has stepped into a large role this season. The junior owns 140 digs on the year, including a career-high 12 digs against Oregon.
  • Eva Rohrbach leads the Terps in blocks with 73. The sophomore averages nearly three blocks per match. Rohrbach has added more to the offensive game, adding 30 kills in the last four matches. Anastasia Russ added six blocks and four kills against Washington. She now leads the Terps in blocks per set averaging 1.02.

  • Maryland sits 3-13 against Michigan State in program history. The Terps picked up their latest win over the Spartans in 2021 with a four sets win in College Park. 
  • These programs met one last season, with Michigan State taking the match in straight sets.
  • Maryland and UCLA have only met one time in program history. UCLA took a three-set win over the Terps in 2006.

  • Michigan State sits 8-15 overall and sits at 1-11 in the conference, with a win over then-No. 16 USC. Last weekend, the Spartans fell to then-No. 15 Minnesota and Ohio State.
  • The Spartans rank similarly to Maryland in kills, assists and digs. They average a slightly higher blocks per set rate with 2.29. 
  • Michigan State's offense runs through outside hitter Akasha Anderson and setter Julia Bishop. On the defensive side, Nalani Iosia owns 372 digs. Zuzanna Kulig has tallied more than double the blocks than her teammates. The middle blocker averages 1.43 blocks per set with a season-high 12 blocks against Illinois.
  • UCLA owns a 10-11 overall record, as well as a 4-8 conference record, with wins over Ohio State, Washington, Northwestern and Michigan State.
  • The Bruins rank in the top five in the Big Ten in kills per set (13.78) and assists per set (12.65). They average 12.36 digs per set and 2.20 blocks per set. 
  • A few notable names for UCLA include Cheridyn Leverette and Audrey Pak for their offensive production. Leverette leads the Bruins in kills with 311 and Pak in assists with 752. Anna Dodson owns 85 blocks and Peyton Dueck has tallied 256 digs on the year.
  • UCLA will face Rutgers on Thursday before facing off against the Terps on Saturday.
