Box Score Williamsburg, VA- The Maryland Terrapins defeated William & Mary 4-3, coming back from a 3-1 deficit on Saturday.
"The team did a great job today stepping up after losing the doubles point," said Head Coach
Katie Dougherty. "Maria was unbelievable in the clinch match, she committed to her game and started coming forward again and played a great tiebreak to win it for us."
William & Mary took the doubles point and the first singles match to take a 2-0 lead.
Kallista Liu responded with a singles win to make it 2-1.
William & Mary then won another singles match to increase their lead to 3-1.
The Terps took two straight singles wins from
Minorka Miranda and
Diya Challa to tie the match at 3-3.
The final singles match came down to the wire, with
Maria Budin defeating Ine Stange (W&M), going to a third set tiebreaker to clinch a 4-3 comeback victory for Maryland.
