COLLEGE PARK, MD - Each week during the 2023-2024 season a Maryland student-athlete, who has shown excellence on and off the playing field, will be selected as the Solomon Eye Physicians & Surgeons Terp of the Week.
This week's winner is Maryland track and field's Eric Albright.
Albright, a junior out of Glen Mills, PA, broke the school record in the indoor 800m this weekend at the Boston University David Hemery Valentine Invitational, crossing the finish line with a time of 1:49.82. This also marks the first time that any Terp, male or female, has run sub 1:50 indoors in the 800m.
Albright broke a record previously set by David Trettel in 2016 and became the second track and field Terp to be awarded the Terp of the Week, after Chioma Njoku won the award in the first week of December.
