COLLEGE PARK, MD - Eric Reinke has been elevated to the position of Senior Associate Athletic Director/Business Operations in addition to his role as Chief Financial Officer for Maryland Athletics as announced by Damon Evans, the Barry P. Gossett Director of Athletics.
Reinke joined Maryland in 2015 and is entering his 11th year at Maryland. Reinke was promoted to CFO in July 2023 and moved into an Associate Athletic Director role in January 2019. Reinke joined the Terps in 2015 and previously was the Director of Business Operations and Assistant Athletic Director for Business Operations.
"Eric has been a tremendous asset to our athletic department for more than a decade," said Evans. "We are excited to announce this elevation to Senior Associate Athletic Director, which recognizes the invaluable work he has been doing in this transformational time of college athletics and budget management."
In his role, Reinke will continue to manage the day-to-day operations of the business office, handle oversight of budget management for the athletic department, oversee the human resources department, serve as the liaison with the Board of Regents while being responsible for all monthly and annual reporting as well as departmental forecasting and budgeting. Reinke also supervises the women's cross country, men's track & field and women's track and field programs at Maryland.
Prior to Maryland, Reinke was the Director of Business Operations at Towson University, managing the day-to-day operations of the athletic business office and responsible for monthly and annual reporting. He also worked in accounting at the University of Florida for over three years beginning in 2008 after working in the ticket office at both Florida and with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.
Reinke graduated from the University of Florida in 2005 with a Bachelor of Science in Finance and minor in Mass Communication before remaining at Florida to obtain his Master's degree in Sports Management in 2007. He is a native of Tampa, Florida and lives in College Park with his wife and two sons.
Additionally, Evans announced that Colleen Sorem will now serve as the department's Senior Deputy Athletic Director/Chief Operating Officer and Brian Ullmann will hold the title of Deputy Athletic Director/Chief Strategy Officer. Sorem joined the Terps in 2014 and has served as Deputy Athletic Director since 2018 and Chief Operating Officer since July 2023. Ullmann, a 1992 Maryland graduate, has spent more than 25 years working at the University of Maryland in both campus and athletics roles. He had served as the Executive Associate Athletic Director/Chief Strategy Officer since July 2019 and the university's Vice President of Marketing and Communications until this past May.
