COLLEGE PARK, MD – Maryland volleyball vs. UMBC (25-12, 26-24, 25-16) on Sep. 15 at the XFINITY Center Pavilion. Maryland (6-2) earned its fifth sweep of the season and has now won five consecutive games.

The Terps got off to a hot start in the first set with several scoreless runs throughout. They posted a .722 hitting percentage, forcing UMBC to commit seven attack errors to Maryland's zero.

Despite a late push by UMBC in set two, Maryland held on with a kill by Sydney Bryant and forced an attack error for match point. It recorded 18 kills in the set overall. The Terps shut the door in the final set, ending the match on an 8-1 run.

Samantha Schnitta recorded 13 kills, five aces, three digs and three blocks. Sam Csire added 10 kills, three aces, five digs and a block. It was Schnitta's sixth time and Csire's fifth time recording 10 or more kill this season.

Other standout performers were Bryant (10 kills and two digs) and Anastasia Russ (four kills and four blocks).

Zoe Huang led Maryland with 24 assists. It was her fifth consecutive game with 15 or more assists after setting a career-high 29 assists against New Hampshire on Aug. 31. She also recorded five digs and three aces.

Set 1: Maryland 25 - UMBC 12

Maryland kicked set one off 4-1 with a huge block by Sam Csire and a service run by Zoe Huang.
Samantha Schnitta with a kill down the line at 8-3.
A slide kill by sophomore middle blocker Eva Rohrback put the Terps up 10-5.
UMBC was forced to call a timeout after a service ace by Lily Gunter at 21-9
Csire with an overpass kill to finish set one 25-12

Set 2: Maryland 26 - UMBC 24

Set 2 opened with a top spin service ace from Schnitta, and UMBC trailed 4-2.
Csire recorded a kill at 7-3 to push an early lead for Maryland.
The Terps led 13-9 after a tip kill by Schnitta.
Rohrback with an overpass kill at 16-12.
Maryland led 19-15 after Sydney Dowler put the ball over in two with a setter dump.
UMBC received a hitting error that led the Terps to close out set two, 26-24.

Set 3: Maryland 25 - UMBC 16

A huge block by Schnitta followed by a kill by Csire put the Terps up 5-4, to start set 3.
Rohrback scored another kill to lead 12-9.
Service ace by Huang put the Terps up 16-10.
At 21-16 Schnitta scored a kill down the line to put Maryland ahead by 5.
An eight-point run by Schnitta and a tool by Rohrback closed out set three, 25-16.
