
No. 12 Maryland Conquers Ranked Challenge With 2-1 Win Over No. 10 Iowa

A pair of goals from the Hollamon sisters gave the Terps their fourth ranked win of the season.
IOWA CITY, IA — The No. 12 Terps (8-4, 4-1 Big Ten) took to the road for a ranked battle with the No. 10 Iowa Hawkeyes (7-3, 1-2 Big Ten) and emerged with one of their biggest wins of the season, 2-1.
The first half was a tale of two quarters as Iowa controlled the possession battle for the first 15 minutes before the Terps tallied eight shots in the second quarter. Both defenses remained stout as Alyssa Klebasko posted five of her eight total saves in the scoreless opening half.
Iowa's Lieve van Kessel finally broke the ice in the 41st minute, scoring on a corner after an initial Klebasko save. Minutes later, Jordyn Hollamon evened the match on a great feed from Maci Bradford.

1st Quarter:
- Iowa recorded the first two shots of the day in the 14th minute, but Klebasko made a pair of early saves.
- The Hawkeyes attempted a duo of corners in the closing seconds, but the Terps fended them both off with a block and another Klebasko save.
- Maryland defended five total shots in the first quarter in a scoreless frame.
- Jordyn Hollamon recorded the Terps' first shot in the 16th minute.
- Maryland was awarded its first corner in the 16th minute.
- The Terps held off a Hawkeyes attack on a corner in the 17th minute.
- Klebasko made her fourth save on another corner in the 17th minute.
- Maryland attempted a corner in the 24th minute.
- The Terps outshot Iowa 8-4 in a scoreless second quarter as the two teams took a 0-0 tie into the break.
