The high-ranked Badgers used six aces to defeat Maryland on Sunday.
COLLEGE PARK, MD — The No. 7 Wisconsin (12-2, 5-1 Big Ten) stormed into the Schanwald Pavilion with an impressive start to the season under its belt. The Badgers and Terps (7-9, 0-6 Big Ten) fought for three sets, but Wisconsin emerged with its 12th win of the season.
Ajack Malual recorded 10 kills and an ace while Addie Canady tallied a pair of aces, but the Badgers used a trio of set wins (25-20, 25-19, 25-12) to capture a Sunday win.
How it Happened:
1st Set:
- The teams traded a pair of service errors to start the day.
- An ace from Malual put the Terps ahead 4-1.
- The Terps took a 7-4 lead.
- A kill from Haley Melby put Maryland up 11-7.
- A Wisconsin ace evened the set at 13-13.
