Terps Close 2025 Season With Scoreless Draw With Rutgers

Maryland earned a point in the standings as the Terps worked their only draw of 2025 in their season finale.

COLLEGE PARK, MD — The Terps and Scarlet Knights fought their way to a 0-0 draw to close their respective seasons on Sunday at Ludwig Field during Maryland's annual "Pink Out".

Maryland (6-11-1, 2-8-1 Big Ten) entered the day without a draw and nearly ended its first season since 2013 without one, but strong defensive performances from the Terrapin defense earned Maryland a point in its final match of 2025.

A scoreless first half featured four saves from Faith Luckey, who finished the 2025 season with 87 saves, which is currently the second-highest mark in the Big Ten. The Terps took the field for the second half 45 minutes away from their first draw of the season. Both teams had a share of scoring opportunities in the second half, but were unable to find any separation as Rutgers (4-7-5, 2-7-2 Big Ten) left Ludwig Field with its fifth draw of 2025.

Maryland's first full season under Michael Marchiano saw the Terps win six matches — the program's most since 2019 and featured an impressive defensive campaign from Luckey and company. The future is very bright in College Park under Marchiano's leadership moving forward.
