
Maryland Loses in Four Sets in Road Match with Rutgers

The Terps fell to the Scarlet Knights in their first match of the weekend.
PISCATAWAY, NJ — Maryland (7-6, 0-3 Big Ten) fell on the road to Rutgers (10-5, 1-2 Big Ten) in four sets on Friday night.
An impressive rally from Rutgers in the opening set earned the Scarlet Knights a 27-25 set victory, but Maryland responded in the second set, creating a 18-9 lead and holding it for a 25-17 match-evening set win.
Rutgers won a pivotal third set 25-20 and used its momentum to take the final frame 25-16 to seal its first conference win of the season.
Ajack Malual led the team with 14 kills, Duru Gökçen tallied five total blocks, and the Terps recorded six aces in the Friday night loss.

1st Set:
