COLLEGE PARK, MD – For the first time in 14 years, the University of Maryland Women's Tennis team will send two members of the roster,
Emma Ghirardato and Emma Kovacevic, to compete in the NCAA Fall Doubles Championship in Orlando, Florida. The tournament will start on Tuesday, November 18th. Doubles matches start on Wednesday, November 19th.
Emma and Ema are coming off a terrific outing at the ITA Regionals at UNC Chapel Hill the previous weekend, going 3-1 and punching their ticket to compete in this tournament. As a duo in all of the fall tournaments, they've gone 8-3 in doubles matches.
Ghirardato, a transfer sophomore from Oklahoma, continues to show her dominance as a Terp in the fall tournament slate.
Kovacevic, coming off a terrific freshman year in 2024-2025, is showing terrific signs of progress in her general game as we approach the spring season.
The duo's first match will be in the round of 32, where they will face off against the #2 seed, Roisin Gilheany and Gloria Nahum from Oklahoma, on November 19th.
