COLLEGE PARK, MD -- The University of Maryland women's tennis team defeated Towson 4-0 in the Terps second of two matches of a Friday doubleheader.
The Terps came into the match with a 6-0 victory against VCU earlier in the day.
The Terrapins started strong in doubles. Kallista Liu and Ema Kovacevic won their second No. 1 doubles match 6-1. Oliwia Orlinska and Tamari Gagoshidze then took the No. 3 doubles match, clinching the doubles point.
Danielle Hack and Diya Challa picked up their first doubles win of the day, winning 6-3 in the No. 2 doubles match, sealing a doubles sweep for Maryland.
The Terps continued their good form in singles, sweeping the first set in each match.
Tamari Gagoshidze got Maryland's first singles point, winning the No. 4 singles match 6-1, 6-0. Ema Kovacevic took the No. 2 singles match 6-3, 6-0.
Kallista Liu clinched the win for Maryland, taking the No. 1 singles match 6-1, 6-2.
Danielle Hack, Aida Eissa and Katherine Hung were all leading their singles matches when the match was clinched.
