Job Description:
The University of Maryland Olympic Sports Strength & Conditioning Department seeks applications for the position of Strength & Conditioning Coaching Assistant. This is a 12-month appointment, which offers the following opportunities:
Candidates must possess at least one year of previous experience in a strength and conditioning program or have previous collegiate athletic experience. Must have outstanding work ethic, attention to detail, and possess strong desire to become a full-time strength and conditioning professional. Excellent written and verbal communication skills, computer software knowledge, effective organization, and administrative skills are all highly preferred.

- Attain practical knowledge and experience working hands on with 16 Division I Championship level teams
- Opportunity to be assigned 2-4 sports (determined by best fit/experience level)
- Potential to include enrollment in CSCCa practicum and sit for the Collegiate Strength & Conditioning Association's certification and practical exam (all expenses paid)
- Gain experience with other sport science technologies, athlete monitoring and management platforms (VALD Systems: ForceDecks, ForceFrame, NordBord, SmartSpeed; Catapult, VBT, and Smartabase)
- Collaborate and work alongside other sport performance team members (Sports Medicine, Nutrition, Psychology, Academics, Sport Coaches)
- Gain valuable experience working with and learning from six strength staff members with nearly 50 years of combined experience
- Build/expand professional network and receive future recommendations
- Bachelor's Degree, preferably in related field
- One or both of the following Certifications: CSCS, SCCC
- CPR, First Aid, and AED certified

- 40 hrs. per week at $18.75 per hr.
