Kanpai Set For Women's US Open

ERIN HILLS, WI -- Junior Nicha Kanpai of the Maryland women's golf team will compete in the Women's US Open presented by Ally this weekend at the Erin Hills Golf Course in Erin Hills, Wis.
Kanpai, competing as an amateur, will tee off at 3:20 p.m. ET in Thursday's third round. Click here for live scoring and here to watch.
Kanpai won a qualifying event on April 30 at the Springfield Golf & Country Club in Springfield, Va. to earn her spot for the Women's US Open. Kanpai won the event with a score of 143 (73-70), which was +1. The top two finishers in the event qualified.
Kanpai earned an individual bid to NCAA Regionals and competed in the Charlottesville Regional May 5-7 at the Birdwood Golf Course in Charlottesville, Va.
Kanpai had four top 10 finishes this year, including a win at the Cougar Classic. Kanpai is a two-time All-Big Ten honoree.
