Three Terps Named to Big Ten Watch List

College Park, MD – Maryland field hockey players Josie Hollamon, Ella Gaitan, and Alyssa Klebasko have been named to the Big Ten Players to Watch List, as announced by the conference on Wednesday.
 
Hollamon returns to College Park for her third season after representing the United States on the Women's National Team in the Pan American Cup and earned a silver medal. The 2024 Big Ten Defensive Player of the Year appeared in all 20 games, starting each one. Hollamon recorded 16 points last season with five goals and six assists.

Gaitan was a member of the 2024 U.S. U21 Women's National Team. She had a stellar freshman year last season, earning Big Ten All-Second Team and All-Freshman Team honors. She appeared and started in all 20 games, recording nine goals and three assists.
 
Klebasko is back in goal for the Terps this season, as she returns from playing in the Junior Pan American Cup with the U.S. U21 Women's National Team. She represented the U.S. as the flag bearer in the opening ceremony and brought home a silver medal. Last season, Klebasko tallied almost 1200 minutes in goal making 54 saves. She earned All-Big Ten Second Team honors.

Maryland field hockey starts their season on Friday, August 29 as they face Stanford for game one of the Conference Cup. Play begins at noon and can be streamed on Big Ten Plus. The Terrapins will also face off against Villanova on Sunday, August 31 at 2:00 p.m.
