The Terrapins are 4-0 at home for the first time since 2017 after their latest win.

COLLEGE PARK, MD - Four home matches, four wins for the Maryland Terrapins.

The Terrapins reached a benchmark their program hasn't met since 2017 with their fourth home win of the season in as many matches. Navy (4-2) became Maryland's (4-1) latest victim as the Terps downed the Midshipmen 2-1 at Ludwig Field on Thursday night.

A defensive first half primarily consisted of possession battles until Ellie Egeland broke through in the 36th minute, unassisted. She wove between defenders alone in the box and blasted a shot off her left foot past the Navy goalkeeper for her second-career goal.

Maryland held Navy to just one shot in the first half while recording six shots of their own. The Terps took a 1-0 lead into the break, looking to win their fourth match in a season's first five for the first time since 2021.

Gemma Davitian scored her second goal of the season in the 64th minute on the rebound of a shot from Emily Lenhard, who picked her first assist of the season. Navy halved the lead in the 84th minute with a goal from Marlee Heaven on a penalty kick. A hand ball set Heaven up for the kick and she put it past Luckey to put Navy on the board.

The Terps held off a late offensive push from the Midshipmen in the second half to improve to 4-1 on the young season. With the win, Maryland matched its win total from 2024.

Eva Mowery recorded Maryland's first shot in the 15th minute.
Maryland recorded its first corner kick in the ninth minute, but its first shot came in the 15th.
Navy recorded two corner kicks in the first five minutes, but didn't record a shot until the 38th.
Egeland scored in the 36th minute to put Maryland ahead 1-0.
Faith Luckey faced her first shot in the 38th minute and made her first save in the 78th.
Davitian scored in the 64th minute to double the lead, assisted by Lenhard.
Navy scored in the 84th minute on a penalty shot from Heaven.

"We didn't break. Those experiences are hopefully going to add up to the point where we've been exposed and some of the leadership on the field will have greater composure in those moments. I didn't love the way that we ended the game, but the girls bent and didn't break."
