Will Gregware and junior
Emil Riegger both finished one stroke under par to lead the Maryland men's golf team in the Bearcat Invitational Tuesday at the Coldstream Country Club in Cincinnati.
Gregware and Riegger both shot a 212 over the 54-hole event. Gregware shot a collegiate career low 67 in the first round, followed by a 71 in the second and 74 in the third. He made 11 birdies and parred or birdied 46 of 54 holes. Riegger shot an even 71 in both the first and third rounds and a 70 in the second round. He also picked up 11 birdies and parred or birdied 46 holes as well.
Freshman
Griffin Barke shot a 217 (69-72-76) to go +4 and finish tied for 46th in his Maryland debut. Freshman
Caden Piselli shot a score of 225 (77-72-76) and freshmen
Cade Kriscunas shot a 227 (77-74-79) in his first collegiate event.
As a team, the Terrapins earned a score of 866 (284-285-297), which was +14. The Terps tied for 12th out of 18 teams competing.
Next, Maryland will compete in the Blessings Intercollegiate Sept. 29-Oct. 1 in Fayetteville, Ark.
