Maryland Falls 1-0 to No. 4 UCLA

The Terps battled with one of the nation's top teams, but fell just short on Sunday.

LOS ANGELES, CA — The Terps (6-6, 2-3 Big Ten) finished their weekend on the West Coast with a hard-fought 1-0 loss to No. 4 UCLA (8-2-1, 4-0-1 Big Ten) on Sunday afternoon.

A scoreless first half that only featured five total shots looked to be the blueprint for a similar second frame. Until the 71st minute, the two second half looked identical to its predecessor, but UCLA's Bella Winn scored her fourth goal of the season to put the Bruins ahead 1-0.

Maryland's Faith Luckey made five saves and faced 13 shots in the loss, but the Terps were unable to find the equalizer they needed. Maryland fought hard with one of the nation's best teams, but fell just short in Westwood to end its West Coast trip.
