Herron Set to Play in the American Bowl All-Star Game

COLLEGE PARK, Md. — Maryland offensive lineman Alan Herron has been selected to compete in the inaugural American Bowl, one of the nation's premier college football all-star showcases for senior student-athletes.

The 2026 American Bowl will take place on January 22 at Victory Field in Lakeland, Fla., with kickoff scheduled for 8:00 p.m. The game will be televised nationally on NFL Network.

The American Bowl brings together NFL draft-eligible players from across the country for a competitive all-star event that celebrates not only on-field performance, but also leadership and service. The game provides a national platform for seniors as they transition to the next level.

Hosted by Caribe Royale and UCF, the American Bowl delivers nationwide visibility and direct access to NFL personnel while emphasizing philanthropic initiatives. Bowl Week programming includes in-game tributes, partnerships with the military community, and community impact events.

The game will feature two all-star teams coached by NFL veterans Brian Billick and Mike Smith.

Herron earned Honorable Mention All-Big Ten recognition after starting all 12 games at right tackle for the Terps during the 2025 season. A native of Westmoreland, Jamaica, he played a key role in anchoring a Maryland offensive line that allowed just nine sacks, tied for the fifth fewest nationally and the second fewest in the Big Ten.

A durable and consistent presence up front, Herron started all 24 games during his two seasons at Maryland, establishing himself as one of the conference's most reliable offensive linemen.
