Terps in the NFL: Playoff Preview

The NFL regular season came to a close on Sunday and 11 former Terrapins will have the chance to participate in the NFL playoffs starting this Saturday.

How they Preformed

Stefon Diggs capped off his seventh career 1,000 yard season finishing the year with 85 receptions for 1,013 yards and four touchdowns. Diggs and the Patriots will look to carry their momentum into their first round matchup with the Chargers Sunday at 8:00 p.m.

DJ Moore pulled in 50 receptions for 682 yards and six touchdowns this season for the Bears. Moore also provided some production in the rushing attack this season as well, recording 79 yards on 15 attempts reaching the end zone once of the ground. The Bears will hold the number two seed in the NFC and host the Packers on Saturday night at 8:00 p.m.

Tarheeb Still finished off his second NFL season with the Chargers producing 37 solo tackles, 16 tackle assists and seven passes defended. The Chargers will be taking on the Patriots on Sunday night in the wild card round.

Ty Johnson, the dynamic running back, capped off his 2025 regular season for the Bills recording a career best three rushing touchdowns and added on two more additional receiving touchdowns. Johnson finished the season with 463 all-purpose yards. The Bills will be taking on the Jaguars Sunday afternoon at 1:00 p.m.

Sam Okuayinonu tied a career best in sacks in 2025 finishing off the regular season with three sacks, 23 solo tackles and 16 assists. The 49ers will be in action this weekend as they travel to Philadelphia to take on the Eagles at 4:30 p.m. on Sunday.

Spencer Anderson appeared in 15 games for the Steelers offensive line this season, proving to be a steady presence starting in seven of the games. The Steelers will take on the Texans on Monday Night in a Wild Card matchup.

Jakorian Bennett played in 11 games this season for the NFC East champion Eagles after being traded from the Raiders. Bennett picked up six solo tackles, one assist and one pass defended this season. The Eagles will host the 49ers on Sunday afternoon.

Ruben Hyppolite II saw action in seven games during his rookie season for the division champion Bears. Hyppolite II recorded three solo tackles and three assists this season and will take the field Saturday night against the Packers at home in the Wild Card round.

Darnell Savage is set to play on wild card weekend Sunday afternoon for the Bills as they take on the Jaguars. Savage finished his 2025 campaign tallying 10 solo tackles, eight tackle assists and one forced fumble.

Other Terps football alumni in the NFL playoffs include Tommy Akingbesote with the Buffalo Bills and Josh Kaltenberger with the Los Angeles Chargers. Both players are currently on the practice squad.
