DELAND, FL -- University of Maryland standout wide receivers
Jalil Farooq and
Octavian Smith Jr. are set to participate in the Hula Bowl on Saturday in Deland, Fla.
The All-Star game that features some of the nation's top seniors will be played at Spec Martin Memorial Stadium in Deland, Florida. The game will kickoff at Noon and will be broadcast on CBS Sports Network.
Farooq played in all 12 games with eight starts during the 2025 season, leading the Terps and ranking tied for ninth in the Big Ten with 58 receptions. His reception total is tied for the 11th-most catches in a single season in Maryland history. Farooq ranked second on the team in both receiving yards (545) and receiving touchdowns (4).
Smith Jr. also played in all 12 games, making 11 starts, during his senior season for the Terps. He hauled in 43 receptions for 529 yards and averaged 12.3 yards per reception. Smith Jr. ended his Maryland career with 107 receptions, tied for the 17th most all-time in program history. He also finished 25th all-time at Maryland with 1,210 receiving yards.
