COLLEGE PARK, MD -- Laurin Mack has been named Big Ten Goalkeeper of the Week for the second time this season and fifth time in his career, as announced by the league office on Tuesday, Oct. 27.
Mack played a pivotal role in Maryland's 2-0 week, anchoring the Terps' defense with back-to-back clean sheets in a pair of 1-0 victories. Maryland opened the week with a shutout win over St. John's last Tuesday, as Mack made two saves to preserve the clean sheet. He followed that performance with a career-high-tying seven saves against Ohio State, coming up with several key stops to help the Terps secure another 1-0 victory.
Maryland is back in action at No. 7 Washington on Friday night on Big Ten Network with an 8 pm ET kickoff.
