TALLAHASSEE, FL -- Maryland junior wide receiver Chris Durr Jr. has been added to the 2026 Biletnikoff Award Watch List, the Tallahassee Quarterback Club (TQC) Foundation, Inc. announced Wednesday. The award is presented annually to college football's most outstanding FBS receiver.
Durr Jr., a 5-foot-11, 173-pound standout from Chicago, Illinois, continued his impressive season with seven receptions for a career-high 149 yards at Nebraska on Oct. 3, marking his fifth straight game with at least six catches. He joins Levern Jacobs (2013) and Tai Felton (2024) as the only Terps in the past 30 seasons to open a season with at least six receptions in five consecutive games.
Durr Jr. ranks second nationally with 8.4 receptions per game, trailing only Ohio State's Jeremiah Smith, and is among the Big Ten's top five in receiving yards (461). His 92.2 receiving yards per game ranks sixth in the conference and 21st nationally.
Durr Jr. has delivered several historic performances this season, becoming the only Maryland player since 1996 to record consecutive games with at least 10 receptions. Against UConn, he joined DJ Moore and Torrey Smith as the only Terps in the past 30 seasons to record at least 12 receptions, 100 receiving yards and two receiving touchdowns in a game.
With at least 100 receiving yards and a touchdown against both UConn and Virginia Tech, Durr Jr. also joined Vernon Davis (2005), Smith (2010), Stefon Diggs (2013), Dontay Demus Jr. (2021) and Felton (2024) as the only Maryland players this century to reach those marks in consecutive games.
The Biletnikoff Award's semifinalists, three finalists and recipient are selected by the Biletnikoff Award National Selection Committee, which consists of 625 prominent college football journalists, commentators, announcers, past award winners and other former receivers. Foundation trustees do not vote and have never participated in the voting process. A complete list of voters is available at BiletnikoffAward.com/voters.
