COLLEGE PARK, MD — Each week during the 2026-27 season, a Maryland student-athlete who has demonstrated excellence both in and outside of competition is voted on by supporters of Maryland Athletics as the Solomon Eye Physicians & Surgeons Terp of the Week. This week's honoree is senior Sydney Bryant.
Bryant returned from injury and helped lead the Terps to their first conference win of the season, earning an 11-kill, two-block performance in Maryland's home victory over Iowa on Thursday.
She followed that performance with eight kills and three digs against No. 1 Nebraska, as the Terps played in front of a record-breaking crowd of 15,127 fans.
The Terps remain home this weekend for a pair of matches, beginning Friday at 6:30 p.m. against UCLA on the XFINITY Center main court for My Cause My Match. Maryland student-athletes will wear ribbons representing causes that are meaningful to them, while fans can grab a ribbon at the marketing tables and show their support. The match will air on Big Ten Network.
Maryland will then have a quick turnaround, hosting Northwestern on Saturday at 7 p.m. at the Stephen M. Schanwald Pavilion. The match will stream on Big Ten Plus.
