COLLEGE PARK, MD -- Maryland football has officially announced the addition of defensive lineman Jayvon Parker, it was announced on Tuesday. Parker is the 11th scholarship addition to the Terrapins football program from the transfer portal.
A 6-foot-3, 330-pound redshirt senior from Detroit, Parker brings valuable experience in the trenches after appearing in 26 career games over four seasons at Washington.
Parker played in one game during the 2025 season, making his debut at Michigan, where he lined up alongside his twin brother, Armon, for the first time in their collegiate careers, just miles from their hometown. In 2024, he earned Fall Academic All-Big Ten honors while appearing in four games before a season-ending injury. He recorded a career-best five tackles at Rutgers and notched three tackles, including half a sack, in a win over Eastern Michigan. He also tallied two tackles, including one for loss, against Washington State.
As a sophomore in 2023, Parker appeared in 13 of 15 games, contributing in wins over Boise State, Tulsa, Michigan State and California. He saw action in eight games as a true freshman in 2022, recording three tackles and his first career sack in a victory at Washington State. Parker also played in the Alamo Bowl win over Texas and earned the Huskies' Defensive Scout of the Week honors twice during his freshman campaign.
Parker starred at Fordson High School in Dearborn, Michigan, where he helped lead the Tractors to a 9-3 record and a Division I state quarterfinal appearance as a senior. He totaled 46 tackles and six sacks, earning first-team All-Kensington Lakes East League honors and being named the league's Defensive Lineman of the Year.
Parker has one year of eligibility remaining.
