
Five Terps Qualify For 2026 NCAA Track & Field East First Round

COLLEGE PARK, MD – A total of five Terps have qualified to compete in the NCAA Track & Field East First Round meet on May 27-30 at the University of Kentucky Outdoor Track & Field Complex in Lexington, Kentucky.
The field for the NCAA First Round Sites (East and West) is determined by the top 48 declared individual athletes and the top 24 declared relay teams in each region. Qualifying to the NCAA Championships is then accomplished by finishing among the top 12 in individual and relay competitions in the First Round. The 2026 NCAA National Championship Meet will be held at Hayward Field in Eugene, Oregon from June 10-13.
The Terps who qualified for the NCAA Track & Field First Round include Rose Coats (10,000m), Morgan Graham (discus/hammer), Mehdi Guerrah (400m hurdles), Roman Spikes (200m), and Jennessa Wolfe (high jump).
Competition in Lexington will open on Wednesday, May 27 starting at 10 AM with men's field and track events. The women will begin competition on Thursday morning.
Graham is the highest ranked Terp in the field at No. 17 in the hammer rankings and No. 18 in the discus rankings. Guerrah ranks No. 25 in the 400 meter hurdles, while Roman Spikes ranks 31st in the 200 meters and Wolfe ranks 32nd in the high jump. Coats rounds out the quintet ranked 36th regionally in the 10,000 meters.
Tickets for the East Regional are on sale now and all four days of the competition will be streamed on ESPN+.
