INDIANAPOLIS -- Maryland men's golf junior Emil Riegger earned his second straight bid to NCAA Regionals as an individual Wednesday.
Riegger will compete in NCAA Regionals at the Bermuda Run Golf Course in Winston-Salem, N.C. May 18-20.
Six 54-hole regional tournaments will be conducted May 18-20. Thirteen teams and 10 individuals not on those teams will compete at each of three regionals while the other three regionals will have 14 teams and five individuals not on those teams. The top five teams and the low individual not on those teams from each regional will advance to the finals.
Riegger was named to the All-Big Ten Second Team for the second straight year by the league's head coaches earlier Wednesday. He racked up nine top 20 finishes, six top 10 finishes and two individual titles in the Terps' 10 events this season. Riegger is the first Terp to win two events in a season since 2016. He tied his career-low 54-hole score of 206 twice this season.
Riegger was named Big Ten Golfer of the Week twice this year (Feb. 26, March 24) after winning the Wyoming Desert Collegiate and the Bell Bank "Pay It Forward" Collegiate.
Last year, Riegger competed in NCAA Regionals and finished 14th individually.
