COLLEGE PARK, MD -- Maryland men's soccer head coach Sasho Cirovski has announced the program's 2026 schedule, highlighted by a competitive non-conference slate featuring opponents from five conferences and a loaded Big Ten home schedule at Ludwig Field.
The Terrapins' 2026 campaign features non-conference matchups against Pittsburgh, New Haven, High Point, Delaware, Georgetown and St. John's. In Big Ten play, Maryland will host Wisconsin, UCLA, Michigan State, Ohio State and Penn State at Ludwig Field.
"Coming off a remarkable 2025 season, we are excited about the challenge this schedule will present for our squad as we head into the 2026 season," Cirovski said. "With a talented group of returning players and a special class of newcomers joining the program, we are thrilled with where this team stands as we prepare for the 2026 campaign. At Maryland, the goal is always to strive for excellence and compete for championships, and we believe this schedule will prepare us for the challenges ahead."
Maryland opens the season on the road at Pittsburgh on Aug. 20 after defeating the Panthers, 2-1, last season. The Terps will then return to College Park for a four-match homestand at Ludwig Field, beginning with New Haven on Aug. 24.
The first Friday Night matchup of the season is set for Aug. 28, when Maryland hosts High Point at 7:30 pm under the Ludwig Field lights. High Point finished the 2025 season ranked No. 16 in the final United Soccer Coaches Poll. The Terps will continue the homestand in September with matchups against Delaware on Sept. 4 and Georgetown on Sept. 7. Georgetown closed the 2025 season ranked No. 5 nationally in the final United Soccer Coaches Poll.
Maryland begins Big Ten play on the road at Northwestern on Sept. 11 before returning home to host Wisconsin on Sept. 18. The Terps will close out September with a matchup against UCLA on Sept. 25 at Ludwig Field, marking the fifth meeting between the two programs since the Bruins joined the Big Ten.
The Terrapins open October with a trip to Bloomington, Indiana, to face longtime rival Indiana on Oct. 2. Maryland defeated the Hoosiers, 3-2, on Big Ten Network in 2025. The Terps will then travel to Piscataway, New Jersey, to take on Rutgers on Oct. 6 before returning home to host Michigan State on Oct. 9.
Maryland will travel to Michigan on Oct. 16 after defeating the then-No. 13 Wolverines, 2-0, at Ludwig Field last season. The Terps will then host St. John's on Oct. 20 in their final non-conference matchup of the regular season.
The Terrapins' lone Saturday match of the 2026 regular season will come on Oct. 24, when Maryland hosts Ohio State at Ludwig Field. The Terps defeated the Buckeyes, 4-0, in Columbus during the 2025 season. Maryland will then close out October with a road matchup at 2025 national champion Washington on Oct. 30.
Maryland concludes the regular season on Nov. 4, hosting Penn State at Ludwig Field at 7 pm.
Game times are subject to change, with television designations to be announced at a later date.
The Terrapins return several key pieces from their 2025 Big Ten Championship squad, including Big Ten Goalkeeper of the Year Laurin Mack. He will be joined by 2024 and 2025 All-Big Ten First Team selection Leon Koehl and 2025 All-Big Ten Second Team honoree Albi Ndrenika.
