
Two Former Terps Named To USA World Cup Roster

COLLEGE PARK, MD. — The U.S. Field Hockey team announced its World Cup roster Saturday afternoon, with two former Maryland players earning spots for the upcoming tournament.
Former five-year Terrapin Emma DeBerdine was named to the roster. The midfielder competed for Maryland from 2019-24 and compiled a decorated collegiate career. DeBerdine earned NFHCA Third-Team All-America honors three times (2019, 2022 and 2024) and was a first-team All-Big Ten selection three times (2019, 2022 and 2024).
Also representing Team USA is former Maryland graduate student Leah Crouse. During her lone season in College Park, Crouse earned second-team All-Big Ten honors.
The tournament begins Aug. 15 in Belgium and the Netherlands. The United States will compete in Pool B alongside Argentina, Germany and Scotland.
