Said El Eyssami Named Solomon Eye Terp of the Week

COLLEGE PARK, MD — Each week during the 2026–27 season, a Maryland student-athlete who has demonstrated excellence both on and off the field of competition is selected as the Solomon Eye Physicians & Surgeons Terp of the Week. This week's honoree is freshman Said El Eyssami.
El Eyssami scored twice in his first collegiate match as No. 7 Maryland opened its 2026 campaign with a statement 2-1 road win over Pittsburgh on Thursday night. With his two goals, El Eyssami became the first Maryland player to score twice in a season opener since Jake Rozhansky in 2017 and the first freshman to do so since Graham Zusi in 2005.
The Maryland men's soccer team opens its 2026 home campaign vs. New Haven on Monday night. Kickoff is set for 7:00 pm and the match will air on B1G+.
