One Month Away, Terp Nation
8/5/2026 8:00:00 PM | Football, Terrapin Athletics
Here is what we have continued to build and what you can do to be a part of it.
One month from tonight, the season kicks off at 8pm. And Terpsville will be open for business.
In March, we told you the blueprint was set. We told you that you are not spectators to what Maryland Football becomes. You are co-builders of it. Our team has taken that seriously every single day since.
And it goes beyond tickets. This past year, Maryland Athletics set department records in both total commitments and unique donors, raising more than $43.7M and reaching the 10,000-donor mark for the first time in program history. Ten thousand people putting their name and their resources behind this program. That is not a number. That is a statement.
And behind all of it is a team that has given us every reason to believe this fall is going to be something special, and a group of student-athletes who deserve to look up from the field and see every seat in Terpsville filled.

Presidential Drive is reopening as an active ingress and egress route for the first time in years, serving pass holders in Lots 1C, 1D, 1F, and Lot 3. That change benefits Lot Z and Lot 1B pass holders as well, who will no longer be sharing those entry and exit points. Alumni Drive is also being split into two dedicated lanes for Lot Z and SDG, so traffic moves more efficiently once you are through the roundabout. Designated rideshare pickup and drop-off locations are also being established at Lot P2 and Mowatt Lane Garage.
A comprehensive traffic and parking study we commissioned this past year will continue to inform additional changes, and the same outside experts will be back on site this fall to evaluate what worked and what still needs attention. While we know we cannot eliminate traffic, we commit that we will keep making it better.

Speaking of concessions, this fall we are expanding our kid-friendly options to the west concourse behind Section 14, in addition to the location behind Section 212. And for the first time, a new value menu will be available at select locations across the stadium, both on the main concourse and the 300 level. Good food, more options, easier on the wallet, and with new concourse TVs throughout the stadium, you will never have to choose between the line and the game.
Another destination worth finding this season is the merchandise stands, where you will notice something new. Former Maryland lacrosse goalie Matt Back ('94) is now at the helm of our exclusive in-venue merchandise operation, with new locations throughout the stadium, expanded women's and youth selections, fresh new designs, and the ability to personalize jerseys and customize one-of-one apparel on site at the UA store behind Section 23. A Terp serving Terps.
Terpsville Fan Fest is also getting some upgrades this season, including additional seating and a dedicated host leading fan contests and keeping the energy high all pregame long. And if you really want to be in the middle of the action, Maryland Football's brand new general admission supporter section, the Terp Tank, just launched in Section 16, where the first game is on us.
None of this happens without an incredible group of people across our department who show up every day committed to making your gameday experience better.

Our team cannot wait to welcome you back on September 5. Go Terps!

YOU ARE SHOWING UP AND INVESTING
Season ticket renewals have climbed to our strongest rate in years, and single-game tickets are moving fast. Multiple matchups are already trending toward sellouts. And it goes beyond tickets. AN UPDATE ON WHAT WE'VE BEEN BUILDING
Earlier this year, we shared a number of things we were working on for the 2026 season. Our team has been intentional and focused on making those happen. Since then, we've added a few more improvements worth highlighting. Presidential Drive is reopening as an active ingress and egress route for the first time in years, serving pass holders in Lots 1C, 1D, 1F, and Lot 3. That change benefits Lot Z and Lot 1B pass holders as well, who will no longer be sharing those entry and exit points. SOMETHING ELSE WE THINK YOU ARE GOING TO LOVE
We are rolling out a new interactive campus and stadium mapping tool, accessible right from the Maryland Athletics app, helping you find your entry gate, the closest concession stand featuring our new "nacho sundae" and hand-tossed wings, Terpsville Fan Fest, and more. Speaking of concessions, this fall we are expanding our kid-friendly options to the west concourse behind Section 14, in addition to the location behind Section 212. THE BEST THING YOU CAN DO
Show up. Buy a ticket and bring a friend who has not been to SECU Stadium in a while. Get to Terpsville early. Buy a hot dog. Pick up new Maryland gear in the stadium or from anywhere in the world. If you are in a position to support this program through a gift, we would be honored to have you. Every ticket, every seat filled, every dollar goes back into these student-athletes and into building something great together. Our team cannot wait to welcome you back on September 5. Go Terps!
