Maryland opens ECU tournament play against Campbell on Thursday, with first serve set for 2 p.m.
Strong start
- Maryland's 7-1 record is its best through eight matches since 2021.

freshmen Making an impact
- Six incoming freshmen, Brooklynne Brass, Marlee Sivak, Ioanna Dimitriou, Elayna Davidson, Ava Brown and Raina Chwialkowski make up the No. 16-ranked freshman class in the nation, according to Prep Dig.
- Raina Chwialkowski recorded 29 digs and 7 service aces this past tournament weekend.
- Ava Brown recorded 7 kills and 4 blocks against Saint Peter's on Sunday.
- The class is Maryland's second-highest-ranked incoming group in program history and the highest-ranked class of the Hughes era.
- Chwialkowski was named the 2024-25 Gatorade North Dakota Volleyball Player of the Year, becoming the award's recipient for the second consecutive year.

ECU:
- East Carolina is 5-4 overall following a 3-0 loss to Georgia Southern on Sunday (25-17, 25-15, 25-16).
- The Pirates recorded 10 kills in the opening set, with Kai Bailey leading ECU with four kills.
- ECU opened the third set with a 7-5 lead before Georgia Southern responded with a 14-6 run to close out the match.
- The Pirates will look to bounce back after dropping their second straight match.
Campbell:
- Campbell is 3-5 overall after splitting a pair of matches at the Fairfield Inn & Suites Campbell Invitational.
- The Camels earned a four-set win over Stetson before falling to Furman in four sets.
- Victoria Tupy was named to the All-Tournament Team after recording 33 kills and 33 digs across three matches.
- Campbell hit .353 with 17 kills in the opening set against Stetson, with Leah Freesemann recording six kills on eight swings.
Old Dominion:
- Old Dominion is 4-4 overall after earning a 3-1 win over Maryland Eastern Shore on Sunday.
- Leilani Lawrence led the Monarchs with 13 kills while hitting .296.
- Maggi added 10 kills, while Wiktoria Zagumny and DiRocco each recorded eight kills.
- Zagumny also posted 41 assists, while six different Monarchs recorded at least one service ace.
- ODU used four blocks during a 15-9 run in the opening set to pull away for a 25-18 win.

The Terps are 5-0 at home.
