COLLEGE PARK, MD -- Maryland volleyball returns home for its first Big Ten matches this week, hosting Iowa on Thursday before welcoming No. 1 Nebraska on Saturday. The Terps face the Hawkeyes at 7 p.m. Thursday in the Stephen M. Schanwald Pavilion before taking on the top-ranked Huskers at 7 p.m. Saturday on the main court at XFINITY Center. Both matches will stream on B1G+.

For Saturday's match, fans can stop by the Stephen M. Schanwald Pavilion for a free pre-match Fan Fest featuring lawn games, face painting and glitter tattoos, a bounce house and more! Gates open at 5:30 p.m.

Beginning of B1G Play

Maryland opened Big Ten play against a pair of ranked opponents, facing No. 10 Purdue and No. 18 Indiana on the road.
Ava Brown led Maryland with 17 kills across the two matches, including nine kills against Indiana.
Eva Rohrbach recorded 15 kills during the weekend, including eight kills against Indiana.
Brooklynne Brass contributed in multiple areas, totaling 13 kills, six digs, four blocks and an ace across the two matches.
Sara Toth continued to direct Maryland's offense, recording 52 assists and 12 digs across the weekend.
Toth also provided an offensive spark against Indiana, recording three kills without an attack error and hitting .750.
Maryland's freshmen continued to make an impact against ranked competition, with Marlee Sivak recording five kills against Indiana and contributing a block.
The Terps showed resilience against Indiana, cutting the Hoosiers' third-set lead to two points before Indiana pulled away late in the set.
Maryland returns to College Park for its Big Ten home opener against Iowa after beginning conference play with two road matches against ranked opponents.

Eva Rohrbach continued to provide a steady presence in the middle for Maryland. The senior totaled 15 kills and two blocks across the Terps' two matches against ranked opponents.
Duru Gökçen continued to anchor Maryland at the net against two ranked Big Ten opponents. She recorded four kills and two blocks against Purdue and added two kills against Indiana.

Ava Brown has continued to make an impact on both sides of the net. The freshman recorded 17 kills across Maryland's two Big Ten matches, including nine against No. 18 Indiana, and added two blocks against No. 10 Purdue. She enters the Iowa match with 107 kills and 49 blocks on the season.
Brooklynne Brass has remained a steady offensive and defensive contributor. Brass totaled 13 kills, six digs and four blocks across Maryland's matches at No. 10 Purdue and No. 18 Indiana, including a season-high four blocks against the Boilermakers. She has 47 kills and 76 digs through 13 matches.
Marlee Sivak provided an offensive spark against No. 18 Indiana. The freshman recorded five kills and a block in Maryland's three-set match against the Hoosiers after seeing action at Purdue. Sivak has totaled 18 kills through 15 sets this season.
Raina Chwialkowski continues to anchor Maryland's defensive effort. The freshman leads the Terps with 140 digs and is averaging 3.50 digs per set, while also contributing 14 service aces. She recorded 13 digs at No. 10 Purdue, giving her double-digit digs in each of her last several appearances.
Elayna Davidson has provided a consistent presence in the back row and at the service line. Davidson has appeared in 36 sets and has totaled 58 digs and nine service aces this season, while recording eight receptions at a .947 reception percentage.
The class is Maryland's second-highest-ranked incoming group in program history and the highest-ranked class of the Hughes era.
Chwialkowski was named the 2024-25 Gatorade North Dakota Volleyball Player of the Year, becoming the award's recipient for the second consecutive year.

Iowa has a balanced offensive attack, with middle hitters Liv Mogridge and Hannah Whittingstall and outside hitter Rosa Vesty each recording 10 kills in the Hawkeyes' most recent sweep of Rutgers.
Jenna Meitzler directs the Iowa offense and ranks among the Big Ten leaders in assists, averaging more than 11 assists per set while recording 39 assists against Rutgers.
Iowa can create pressure at the net, recording 18.5 blocks against Milwaukee and nine blocks against Ohio State, with Mogridge leading the team with six blocks against the Buckeyes.
