
No. 2 Maryland Grabs 3-2 Rivalry Win Over No. 5 Georgetown

The Terps earned their highest-ranked win since 2018 as they moved to 5-0 for the first time since 2011 in front of Ludwig Field’s largest crowd since 2017.
Georgetown (4-1-1) had the first goal of the night stand after video review, giving the Hoyas the lead in the 16th minute of play. It didn't take long for the Terps to respond as captain Albi Ndrenika found the back of the net in the 19th minute with assists from Leon Koehl and Henry Bernstein.
Freshman Rodrigo Neri gave the Terps the lead with his third goal in the 27th minute. Laurin Mack made the first two of his four saves in the first half, allowing Maryland to take a 2-1 lead into the break of its 40th all-time clash with Georgetown.🚨 WONDER GOAL ALERT 🚨

Mack and the Terrapin defense held steadfast in the second half before Said El Eyssami put the match on ice with a goal in the 81st minute. Georgetown scored in the final minutes, but the Terps closed out their highest-ranked win since 2018 and will carry significant momentum with them to Northwestern to open Big Ten play on Friday.Right place, right time 🕺

1st Half:
- Neri recorded the night's first shot in the eighth minute.
- Georgetown opened the scoring with a second-chace goal following a Mack save in the 16th minute.
- Ndrenika tied the game with a goal (2) in the 19th minute. Koehl (2) and Bernstein (5) assisted on the equalizer.
- Mack made his second save in the 25th minute.
- The Terps took their first lead in the 27th minute on Neri's goal (3) from Ljubomir Popovic (2).
- A shot from El Eyssami narrowly missed in the final minutes.
- The Terps led 2-1 at the break.
- Maryland was assessed a yellow card in the 46th minute.
- The Terps fought off a Georgetown corner in the 51st minute as Mack made his third save and the Hoyas were shown a yellow card.
