Ndrenika And Neri Take Home Big Ten Weekly Awards

COLLEGE PARK, MD — Albi Ndrenika and Rodrigo Neri each earned Big Ten weekly honors, with Ndrenika being named Big Ten Offensive Player of the Week and Neri earning Big Ten Freshman of the Week, the league office announced Tuesday, Sept. 8.
Ndrenika helped lead Maryland to a 2-0 week, recording two goals and an assist to earn his first Big Ten Offensive Player of the Week honor of the season. His biggest moment came against No. 5 Georgetown, when he scored a spectacular equalizing goal that was featured as the No. 9 play on SportsCenter's Top 10 Plays and earned a shoutout from Maryland alum Scott Van Pelt. Ndrenika was highly efficient throughout the week, scoring twice on just two shots.

Neri earned his second consecutive Big Ten Freshman of the Week honor after also recording two goals and an assist during Maryland's 2-0 week. The freshman has now scored in three consecutive matches and has quickly established himself as one of the Terps' top scoring threats.
