Haley Melby Named Solomon Eye Terp of the Week

COLLEGE PARK, MD — Each week during the 2026-27 season, a Maryland student-athlete who has demonstrated excellence both in and outside of competition is voted on by supporters of Maryland Athletics as the Solomon Eye Physicians & Surgeons Terp of the Week. This week's honoree is graduate student Haley Melby.
Haley Melby helped lead the Terps to a 2-0 week at home with wins over the University of Maryland Eastern Shore and George Mason.
Melby contributed to Maryland's 3-0 sweep of UMES on Sunday with a team-high nine kills and two aces.
Melby also helped the Terps secure another 3-0 win over George Mason on Monday, recording a team-high 13 kills and two blocks as Maryland completed the 2-0 weekend.
The Terps return home this weekend to host the Maryland Tournament. Maryland will open tournament play against Seton Hall on Friday at 7 p.m., followed by matches between St. Peter's and Princeton. The three teams will continue tournament play throughout the weekend, with each team facing the other two opponents. All matches will be streamed live on Big Ten Plus.
