Novak On Steiner: Elyse had a very strong junior career and is headed for an outstanding future. Elyse is a savvy competitor who will have a significant impact on our team and the ACC this season.
Before Maryland: Had the highest ranking in 18s ... was ranked No. 1 sectionally and No. 26 nationally ... reached No. 4 nationally in doubles with sister Vanessa.
Personal: Parents are Daniel and Mary Steiner...has two sisters, Tara and Vanessa...enjoys playing the piano, shopping, and playing tennis ... lists Andre Agassi as her favorite athlete because of everything he's done for the game ... chose to attend Maryland because it has a great mix of strong academics and athletics.
