MARYLAND: Maryland enters tonight's game with an overall record of 13-8 and a conference mark of 6-5. The Terps have won four of their last five games, including a 56-52 overtime win against Wake Forest in Winston-Salem last Wednesday. Maryland will be looking for its third consecutive win over a team ranked in the Top 15 tonight against No. 13 Virginia. Maryland defeated then-No. 7 North Carolina, 84-62, on Jan. 18 and then-No. 13 Duke, 54-53 on Jan. 30.

VIRGINIA: Virginia enters tonight's game with an overall record of 16-5 and a conference mark of 7-4. The Cavaliers have won three consecutive games, including a 72-55 win over Clemson at University Hall last Thursday. Mimi McKinney, one of three Cavaliers that average double-figures in scoring, leads Virginia with an average of 15.8 points per game. DeMya Walker, averaging 14.6 points per game, leads the team in rebounds with an average of eight per game and Erin Stovall averages 10.1 points per game. Virginia is coached by Debbie Ryan, who is in her 21st season with the Cavaliers and owns a career mark of 477-160.

OLD SERIES: The Maryland/Virginia series is the second longest in school history as the Terps and Cavaliers tip it off for the 49th time tonight. Maryland and NC State have played 52 times.

LAST TIME OUT: Kalisa Davis scored four of Maryland's six overtime points to lift the Terps to a 56-52 win over Wake Forest last Wednesday in Winston-Salem. Trailing 40-24 at the 14:10 mark of the second period, Maryland went on a 24-7 run to take a 48-47 lead with 1:22 left. Sonia Chase hit two free throws to give the Terps a 50-47 advantage with 18 seconds left, but Wake's Alisha Mosley nailed a three-pointer at the buzzer to send the game into overtime. In the extra session, Maryland never trailed and won its third consecutive conference game. Davis scored a game-high 17 points, while Chase and Stephanie Cross chipped in 16 and 12 points, respectively.

LAST TIME AGAINST VIRGINIA: Virginia jumped out to a quick 11-0 start, hitting three three-point shots in the first two and a half minutes of the game. Maryland cut the lead to five, 17-12, at the 11:21 mark of the first half but trailed 44-23 at the break. Maryland could not cut the Virginia lead to single digits in the second half and the Cavaliers went onto the 86-60 win at University Hall on Jan. 8. Stephanie Cross scored a game-high 17 points and Kalisa Davis added 15.

DOWNTOWN TIFFANY BROWN: Sophomore Tiffany Brown broke the three-point career record when she hit her only trey of the game at the 18:48 mark of the first period in Maryland's 56-52 win over Wake Forest. Brown surpassed Carla Holmes' (1988-91) career mark of 75 treys. Brown has converted 76-of-244 treys in her career. She eclipsed the 199 career mark for attempts held by Holmes against Clemson on Jan. 11.

NO CHARITY HELP FROM THE TERPS: Wake Forest attempted ONE free throw against the Terps last Wednesday, an opponent season-low. Branka Bogunovic fouled Carri Walker on a layup at the 6:02 minute mark of the first half. Walker converted the conventional three-point play in Wake's only trip to the foul line the entire night.

WHEN LESS IS BETTER: Maryland committed only two turnovers in the first half and a total of 11 against Wake Forest. The 11 turnovers was Maryland's lowest since the Georgia Tech game on Nov. 22 when the Terps committed a season-low 10 miscues.

LIKE THIEVES IN THE NIGHT: Maryland has recorded 51 (209-158) more steals than its opponents this season, an average of 2.4 more thefts per game. The Terps are 10-3 this season when they record more steals than the opposition in a game.

SENIORITY RULES: The senior class of Sonia Chase, Stephanie Cross and Kalisa Davis have scored 811 of the Terps' 1,307 total points this season. The three seniors have accounted for 62.1 percent of Maryland's scoring total.

ASSIST TO GIBSON: Junior guard Kelley Gibson has dished out a career-high 108 assists this season for an average of 5.1 per game. Gibson has led the Terps in assists in 14 of the last 17 games. In those 14 games, she has dished out 83 assists for an average of 5.9 assists per game.

ANOTHER ASSIST TO KELLEY: In the Terps' 21 games this season, Kelley Gibson has had an equal number or more assists than turnovers in 17 games, including her last 11 consecutive games. In those 11 games, she has 58 assists and 42 turnovers.

OFF THE BENCH: Coming off the bench in Maryland's last two games, Stephanie Cross has averaged 11 points, five rebounds and three steals in 33 minutes of play in games against Duke and Wake Forest. She has also converted 6-of-6 from the free throw line in those two games.

1st Kalisa Davis leads the ACC in field goal percentage with a shooting mark of 63.1.

MOVIN' ON UP: With her four steals against Wake Forest, Sonia Chase moved into a tie for 13th-place all-time in career steals in the ACC with 286. Chase needs only two steals to move into 12th-place.

CHASING SONIA: Sonia Chase leads the ACC in steals with 66 this season for an average of 3.1 thefts per game. Chase currently is tied for 13th-place all-time in the ACC in career steals with 286. She led the ACC in thefts in 1996 with 90. Below is the ACC career steals chart:

DOWNTOWN BROWN II: In ACC play only, Tiffany Brown has converted 27 field goals this season. Of those 27 field goals, 22 have come from beyond the three-point arc. Of Brown's 96 points scored in conference play, 68.8 percent has come from three-point territory.

GOLDEN TOUCH: Kalisa Davis leads the Terps and the ACC in field goal percentage, shooting 63.1 percent and is averaging 14.7 points per game. In 87 career games, Davis has converted 50 percent or more of her field goals in 57 games. Davis' streak of 23 games of converting 50 percent or more of her field goals ended against Duke on Jan. 30 when she shot 4-of-9. Davis converted 8-of-12 against Wake Forest.

STARTING FIVE: Head Coach Chris Weller has used nine different starting lineups this season. Kelley Gibson is the only Terp to start all 21 games this season.
