Maryland Defeats TPU Elk In Women's Basketball Exhibition Game

COLLEGE PARK - Senior guard Tiffany Brown scored a game-high 22 points, leading Maryland to a 69-53 victory over TPU Elk (of Estonia) in women's basketball exhibition action tonight at Cole Field House.
Brown's 22-points included six three-pointers, including five alone in the second half. Freshman guards Vicki Brick and Renneika Razor each added nine points.
Elina Arra led TPU with 16 points and Kai Lass added 13 points.
TPU jumped out to an 8-2 lead in the opening three minutes but the Terps rallied to tie the game at 10-10 four minutes later. Maryland then went on a 19-9 run to take a 29-19 advantage. Estonia, however, cut the margin to 34-29 at the half.
The Terps came out in the second half and promptly extended the lead to 41-29. From there, Maryland never looked back and went on to win 69-53.
Maryland opens up its regular season next Saturday, Nov. 20 as it hosts Loyola at 7:30 p.m.
