PHILADELPHIA, Pa. -
The 4x100 relay team took fourth place in its heat to lead the Maryland women's track team
at the Penn Relays on Friday.
The team recorded a time of 46.49, securing fourth place in the Eastern Colleges Athletic Conference (ECAC) division. The Terps' 4x400 relay team will compete in the finals on Saturday at 5:10 p.m. after recording a qualifying time of 3:42.06 on Thursday.
In addition, junior Ruth Kura (Potomac, Md.) placed fourth in the hammer competition with a toss of 175-8, a personal best in that event. Kura's mark was just over five feet off the Maryland school record, set by Cathy Porter last season.
The men's 4x400 relay team also fared well, taking sixth in its heat with a time of 3:20.83.
Competition resumes tomorrow at 10 a.m.
