Women's Track Team Places 10th At ECAC Championships

Vanessa Jones captured fifth place in the high jump on Sunday and the Terps had top-six finishes in two relays to help propel the University of Maryland's women's track team to a 10th-place finish at the ECAC Championships here this weekend.
Jones posted a mark of 5-8 for her fifth-place finish. The 4x400 relay team of Toni Jefferson, Thema Napier, Dionne Hamilton and Devenn Hamilton finished fifth in a time of 3:45.88. The 4x100 relay quartet of Rashida Twiggs, Napier, Tia Burley and Jefferson finished sixth in a time of 47.11.
Maryland totaled 40 team points for its 10th-place finish.
The Maryland men's team finished in a tie for 40th place in the IC4A meet, totaling four points.
