The Maryland women's basketball team dropped its final exhibition game to Team Concept, 76-73, on Friday night at the Comcast Center. Freshman Charmaine Carr (Brandywine, Md.) led the Terps with 16 points and six rebounds.
Maryland rattled-off seven-straight points to begin the game and went up by as much as 12 at the 13:42 mark in the first half. Redshirt-junior Vicki Brick (Timonium, Md.) had five points to key the run, but Team Concept took over and went on an 18-4 run to pull ahead before the half.
The game was tight down the stretch, but Team Concept held on. Paced by LaToya Washington, who ended the game with 22 points and five rebounds.
With a 7-for-7 performance from the free throw line, Brick ended the game with 15 points and five rebounds. Senior guard Renneika Razor (New York, N.Y.) tallied another 13 points and five rebounds, while senior Brie Jackson (Silver Spring, Md.) grabbed six rebounds off the bench.
Maryland's regular season begins on Nov. 22 against Loyola in the first game ever, men's or women's, to be held in the Comcast Center. That game begins at 7 p.m.
