COLLEGE PARK, Md. - It was a historic night as the doors closed on Maryland women's basketball at Cole Field House as the Terps dropped a 66-54 decision to NC State on Thursday night.

More than 50 former Maryland players were on hand to celebrate the Terps play at Cole and the move to the new state-of-the-art Comcast Center for the 2002-03 season. Maryland finished its women's basketball play at Cole with a record of 277-100.

The final points in a women's game came as Renneika Razor had a put-back layup with 28 seconds left to register the final of 66-54.

The Terps also honored its seniors as Ije Agba, Jamecca Harrell, Rosita Melbourne, Marche Strickland and Deedee Warley all played their final home games in the red, black and white.

In the game, NC State jumped out a double-digit lead in the first six minutes at 14-4 and Maryland was never able to gain the lead, cutting the lead to as small as one early in the second half at 33-32. But the Wolfpack had a great shooting night nailing 59.5 percent of its shots on the way to the victory.

Carisse Moody led the Wolfpack with 16 points and Kaayla Chones chipped in with 14.

Maryland was led by Renneika Razor and Deedee Warley, each of which scored 13. Jamecca Harrell hauled in 10 rebounds.

The Terps conclude the 2001-02 regular season at Wake Forest this Sunday at 1 p.m. The game will be televised on Comcast SportsNet.
