Maryland's Sonia Judd and Virginia's
Tiffany Schummer
were named ACC Women's Lacrosse Co-Players of the Week.
Judd, a junior midfielder from Darlington, South Australia,
scored 10 points and recorded three career-highs in the process as the
Terrapins defeated No. 9 Dartmouth and No. 16 Old Dominion.
In the win 13-8 win over Dartmouth, she had a career-high
three assists and scored a goal. Against ODU, she scored three of the
game's first four goals in the opening five minutes of action,
recording her first career hat trick. In the 17-9 victory, Judd
had a career-high six points, including a career-high four goals and two
assists.
Schummer, a senior defender from Annapolis, Md., led the
Cavalier defense in holding North Carolina to its lowest scoring output
of the season. In the 11-8 upset of the No. 3 Tar Heels, she came up
with several key turnovers and was crucial in helping Virginia clear the
ball effectively to begin the Cavaliers' transition to the offensive
end. Schummer finished the game with five casued turnovers and five
ground balls.
