Postgame Quotes: Florida State vs. Maryland

Jan. 16, 2003

Recap| Box Score

Head coach Brenda Frese
On Maryland's performance against Florida State:
"I still think we had a chance in the second half, despite the way we played. We had a great effort from Del [Oliver] and Renneika [Razor] but you have to have more than two players step up for you. We couldn't get anything going or clicking tonight."

"I wish you could see our practices. We give a better performance in practice than we do in games. When you turn on the lights you have to be ready to compete and that's what we're striving for."

On falling behind early:
"Whenever another team takes a lead from us, we have yet to show that we can respond. We're good when thinks are rolling for us but when things don't go in our direction we have yet to be able to stop it. We didn't play a perfect game at Wake but we battled. I'm disappointed in our effort tonight because we didn't battle for 40 minutes as a team."

Senior guard Renneika Razor
On Florida State's ability to bounce back from Maryland runs:
"I think we only came to play offense today. We didn't play defense at all for 40 minutes. We didn't box out, we didn't crash the boards, we didn't hold our hands up; we didn't do anything on defense today."

On playing well personally while teammates struggle:
"I'm just waiting for some of my teammates to come aboard here and help us out. Sometimes we do it on the defensive end but we need other people to step up and score, knock down shots, and stay confident with themselves."
