Foley Added To Terp Women's Soccer Recruiting Class

April 1, 2003

COLLEGE PARK, Md. - Maryland women's soccer head coach Shannon Higgins-Cirovski has announced that midfielder Elizabeth Foley (Ellicott City, Md./Centennial High School) has been added to the 2003 recruiting class as she was accepted to the university and will begin play at the university in the fall of 2003.

Foley joins defender Ashly Kennedy (Edgewater, Md./St. Mary's High School) and goalkeeper Anna Sheveland (Farmers Branch, Texas/R.L.Turner High School) as new Terps next fall.

She was an All-State selection as a senior. Foley was named to the first-team All-Howard County as both a junior and senior at Centennial as well as a second-team selection as a sophomore. The Eagles captured the Regional Class 2A and State Championships in 2001, when Foley was a junior. In the classroom she is an outstanding student, as she was named to the Honor Roll every quarter in high school and is a member of the National Honor Society and won the Minds In Motion Award. She plays her club soccer with SAC Coventry.

"Liz will be an excellent addition to our program," said Higgins-Cirovski. "We believe she has the tools to develop into an oustanding college player. Liz has solid technical ability, a good tactical base, excellent strength, and exceptional character. We look forward to our time with her as a Terp."
