Cox Named ACC Player Of The Week

COLLEGE PARK, Md. - University of Maryland freshman Delia Cox was named this week's Atlantic Coast Conference Women's Lacrosse Player of the Week.

Cox, a native of Newbury, Mass., scored six goals on the week, including four in the Terrapins' 13-10 come-from-behind win at No. 6 Georgetown. Maryland trailed 8-5 at halftime, before Cox scored three unassisted goals in the second half. She also posted a team-high tying three draw controls against the Hoyas.

Against No. 12 James Madison, Cox scored two goals while notching a team-high five ground balls. She currently ranks fourth in the ACC with 3.25 ground balls per game and is fourth on the team in scoring with 22 points (20 goals, two assists).

The Terrapins host William & Mary (Tuesday at 4:00 p.m.) and Johns Hopkins (Saturday at 5:00 p.m.) this week before traveling to Charlottesville, Va., for the 2003 ACC Women's Lacrosse Championship, April 18-20.
