Five Terps Named To All-Region Team

COLLEGE PARK, Md. - A total of 96 players have been named to the 2003 Brine Intercollegiate Women's Lacrosse Coaches Association/US Lacrosse Division I All-Region teams, as announced today by Duke head coach Kerstin Kimel, chair of the IWLCA Division I All-America Committee.

Among those chosen as all-region performers are five Maryland women's lacrosse players. Seniors Sonia Judd (attack; Darlington, So. Australia) and Alexis Venechanos (goalie; Yorktown, N.Y.) were joined by junior Kelly Coppedge (midfield; Annapolis, Md.) on the first team while senior Julie Shank (defense; Arnold, Md.) and sophomore Acacia Walker (midfield; Annapolis, Md.) earned second team honors.

The All-America team will be announced next week. The complete All-Region teams follow:
