Florida State head coach Sue Semrau
On Maryland's rebounding:
"That was a hard fought basketball game. I thought Maryland did a great job on the boards and that was the difference in the game. We only got eight offensive rebounds and that's something we've been doing really well. I thought that they did a great job of boxing out, it wasn't that we weren't going to the boards...They made some tough shots down the stretch and it's a big win for them."
On what the difference between this game and the teams' match up earlier this season:
"I thought they came out and hit shots...I don't remember that being the case at Florida State. I thought they did a good job of guarding our personnel and playing more of our tendencies."
On Florida State's performance:
"I'm proud of them, but I didn't like our effort on the boards. I think if we had had a better effort on the boards, then we wouldn't have been in that position. Shante [Williams] makes so many things happen for us and I think she was big for us all game, she's been big for us lately."
Maryland head coach Brenda Frese
On Maryland's 76-67 win over Florida State:
"I'm so proud of this team. This was a 40-minute game: 40 minutes of effort, 40 minutes of intensity, 40 minutes of heart...I can't say enough about how every player on this team played a huge role in tonight's win. This is a very, very special win for us."
On Maryland's position in the ACC:
"We've put ourselves in great position through how hard we've worked. We just really want to finish the conference race strong."
Senior forward Crystal Washington
On her double-double performance:
"It feels great. After this, I only have one home game left here and I'm trying to give all I have. I don't have any regrets."
Freshman guard Shay Doron
On how the team rallied after a close first half:
"I was definitely frustrated. My shots were going in and out but my teammates definitely supported me in the locker room. We came out focused and determined that this game wasn't going to slip away from us."
Freshman guard Kalika France
On her game strategy:
"My whole thing was just to be aggressive. Coach [Bernabei] was telling me how I need to be aggressive both on the offensive and defensive end if we want to win this game. I just wanted to get this thing started and keep rolling."
Sophomore forward Chrissy Fisher
On playing the next three of four games on the road:
"I think that's something we've been struggling with a little bit, being 'road warriors' as Coach [Frese] calls it...I think after tonight, especially, we're very confident as a team right now. We know we can go and take games on the road. This is our time to do it, especially after beating Florida State. They just beat Duke so that's a big confidence booster for us."
